Maihama is a beautiful city facing the Tokyo Bay. The conference venue is near the Tokyo Disneyland, and delegates were encouraged to visit the theme park which was built in 1983. Here Tan Teck Bee is seen at the "happiest place on earth".

Sara was there too. Behind her is the Cinderella Castle. A happy ending to the trip to Japan, and an equally great symposium which brought together the international Parkinson Community in Maihama, Tokyo.
Note: A week upon returning home from the symposium, Dato' Ismail bin Mansor, our then President (1998 -1999), was suddenly taken ill, and drifted into a coma. He passed away on 29th October 1999. His sudden demise was a great loss to the association. He was greatly missed by all who have known him in MPDA, and his contribution towards the association will be fondly remembered.
