[back] MPDA Head Recognised Anthony Thanasayan - 30 November 2008

MPDA Head Recognised - By Anthony Thanasayan

It was truly a proud moment not only for the Malaysian Parkinson's Disease Association but for all people with Parkinson's and their caregivers when our President, Sara Lew Lai Heong went up the stage to receive the Rotary Club's coveted Vocational Service Excellence Award 2008 recently.

The presenters of such a high honor came from the Rotary Club K.L West on 23 October last month.

The function was held at the Royal Selangor Club, Kuala Lumpur.

Our President was among four other distinguished honorees who received similar recognitions for their outstanding services to the local community.

Sara receiving the award from the Guest of Honour, YB Dr. Tan Seng Giaw (Member of Parliament of Kepong). Beside her are Rotarian Dato' Dr. Jekinder Singh Gendeh (on her right) and Rotary KL West President Paramjeet Singh Dhesi.

We would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to our President for her untiring work with our association over the 13 years that she has served us.

Sara Lew's recognition has certainly helped bring about more awareness to the public about the indispensible role that caregivers play in helping people with Parkinson lead positive lives.

Long live the MPDA!
